Literature Text

The reflections were three
into water, a still life
on the river flowed
no troubles or strife
Beneath a moving
taking place
that borrowed and shifted
that knew no pace
Above not granted
one two but three
the portals grand
the invitation free
First came your clue
when the sun beamed down
where trees appeared
and nature all around
Second your chance
to view in shape
the river twice
to cue the clue
Last the third
your chance to achieve
the puzzle of three
found only in thee
The answer is clear
when thought is applied and felt
the three are your gifts
only found in the depth of self
Dive into your heart
beneath your rivers be
through what portals
found in thee
When treasure is found
bring it into light
watch it reflect
as well
watch it grow in might
Set in the beautiful Barton Farm Country Park, with its ancient packhorse bridge and bordered by the River Avon and Kennet and Avon Canal, is a range of medieval buildings, which includes the magnificent Tythe Barn. This was the grange of the nuns of Shaftesbury Abbey who had been granted the manor of Bradford by King Ethelred in AD 1001..

This work came as a result of a photo taken of this bridge. I happened upon it and from it came this piece.

Wow! I've been there when I was a kid. You're talking my favourite part of the world here, with Bath City being my home from home (and soon to be permanent home with any luck).
Amazing coincidence.
Beautiful poetry, too :)
