Were my love to find me from what distant land would he come?

If thou wouldst sail the seas and thy vessel hit peril and take on water
Wouldst thou challenge that of manly strength and vigor born to thee
Spreading thine arms wide and cleave the waves and…….. swim to me?
That I might take thee to my bosom where thou wouldst find peace..

If thou could ride to me in thy carriage from a great distance
Wouldst thou sense this maidens passions and take leave of thy senses
Your mighty steeds devouring the miles that part our bodies to deliver thee
Whipped here by thy impatience in thy need, wouldst thou..ride to me?
That I might know thy consuming appetite of me and mine of thee…

If thou didst not have the sea or wheels and only earth beneath thy feet
And thou refused a harbor to the concerns of thine own time and safety
Wanting only what is hidden to the eyes and heart of any man but thee
Losing yourself in the vision that awaits thee wouldst thou……. run to me?
That I might champion this man on one fine day in spring…….
Just a what if
